After an initial consultation is made, a thorough inspection of the premises is undertaken. An assessment of the property is carried out and a full written report is prepared.
The inspection will start with;
- The approach to the property, and parking facilities. Although any potential problems may be beyond your responsibilities your local council should be aware of these and should be in the process of making any alterations needed. This should be checked.
- General look of premises. Is it clear who you are? Do you have an inclusive approach, entrance, circulation route and facilities?
- What about accessible information signs and controls such as door bells, switches and other controls? Are door handles accessible in design, height and visibility? Are doors adequately wide with appropriate opening forces?
