An initial consultation is arranged to discuss the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA.), and how it effects you. An Access Consultant (AC.) will visit you, by appointment and inform you of all regulations relevant to you and your premises. A copy of important sections of the dda. will be available for you to read in your own time if required. The AC. will explain the importance of making "reasonable adjustments" to your premises and the possible consequences if you fail to act. He will also inform you of the benefits you will gain from complying to the Act.
Brochures of disability products will be available if required, as will building product catologues. A list of reputable builders, tradesmen and disability awareness specialists recomended by ourselves will also be available.
He will also discuss with you the importance of your staffs Disability Awarness skills, and inform you about our Disability Awareness courses.
The AC. you first see will follow the project through to completion, what is worth bearing in mind is the fact that an Assesment of the premises is not carried out at the Initial consultancy stage, for this reson we recommend small service providers have a combined consultation/appraisal carried out at a discount price.
